When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions.
Prices: The price includes accommodation plus breakfast and all taxes. We accept the following forms of payment: cash, most debit cards, most credit cards. Sorry we no longer accept payment by cheque.
Deposits: For all bookings we require card details and at our discretion we may take a non refundable deposit from you which is equivalent to the first nights stay.
Room Allocation: From time to time, it may become necessary to change your room allocation to an equivalent standard of room. (For example, this may be due either to unplanned maintenance or a need to change room allocations in order to accommodate a long stay guest.
Visitors: Guests are not permitted to bring visitors into the guesthouse without informing the proprietors.
Group Bookings: We do not accept bookings for stag or hen parties. For other group bookings, please telephone us to discuss your requirements. It is the responsibility of the person booking group accommodation to ensure that all group members are aware of our terms and conditions and that payment is made to the proprietors in the event of any cancellation or failure to arrive by any member of their group.
Children: At Allerdale House we are exclusively for adults and sorry but we cannot accommodate infants and children.
Pets: We do not accept pets at Allerdale House.
Take Away Food: Guests are not permitted to bring take away food into their bedrooms or the house.
Smoking: It is against the law to smoke anywhere on the premises and we ask guests to observe this policy at all times. Anyone thought to be smoking in their room will be asked to leave and will be charged £100.00 for deep cleaning of the fabrics and furnishings in addition to the rest of your stay.
We do not allow e cigarettes to be smoked anywhere on our premises.
Keys: A charge of £30.00 will be charged for replacement keys should the need arise.
Car Park: Allerdale House has 6 car parking spaces solely for the use of their guests cars and these are parked at your own risk. Please park within the white lines.
Cancellation and Insurance: Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made up to 14 days before your booking you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount should we not be able to re let the accommodation. For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance.
N.B. All Bank Holiday bookings, including Christmas and New Year, the cancellation notice is increased to 4 weeks.
Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was unacceptable to you then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival: Your accommodation will be available to you from 3pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We would appreciate you telephoning to let us know if you are delayed on the day of arrival. Arrivals after 7pm are by prior arrangement only.
Please note No arrivals after 6pm on a Sunday.
Departure: Check out time is 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. No reduction will be made if you choose to cut short your pre-arranged stay. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on departure but can be available at any time during your stay.
Damages and Breakages: Please let us know if anything is broken or not working in your room. Although we accept normal wear and tear, you are liable for any damage or breakages you cause to the accommodation. Please report these as soon as they occur.
Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Data Protection: Any data gathered during this booking will be held securely.

What information do we collect about you?
When you make a booking with us we collect the names of all the guests who will be staying, the home address, email address and telephone number of the person making the booking. We also collect a debit or credit card number to secure the booking.
How we use the information we hold on you
We use your home address as part of the card payment processing to validate the card.
We will use your email address to send you confirmation of the booking.
We will not use your telephone number to contact you unless it for an emergency and/or we have been unable to contact you by email.
How is your data stored?
Neither we nor InnStyle or Stripe will share your information with any third party unless there is a legal reason for doing so.
We will not use your data for any marketing purposes, or pass on your information to any third party marketing organisations.
We are required by law to ask you to sign a registration form on arrival. We will keep these forms safely in a locked filing cabinet. We are required to keep these registration forms for a year and show them to a police officer if they request to see them. We will destroy these forms 12 months after your stay.
